Peter Fraser acquired his first camera at the age of 7, which lead him to study photography at the age of 19 at Manchester polytechnic. Whilst living in New York in the year 1974 his influences in photography expanded due to working in Laurel photography bookstore at 32nd street and 6th avenue. Peter Fraser travelled to Memphis, USA to spend 2 months with William Eggleston, one of the main influential colour photographers, which assured his desire for colour photography and his life long commitment to it. His first publication was 'Two Blue Buckets', which was one of the many series of photographs he worked on with support from the Arts council. He published many more series of work, such as; 'Ice and Water’ 1993, ‘Deep Blue’ 1997, ‘Material’ 2002, and ‘Peter Fraser’ (Nazraeli Press) 2006.

Our task to was answer questions on an image we have never seen before, in order to expand are understanding on how to analysis images and pick out the meaning behind it, as it will benefit us for our personal investigation. We also had to describe this image in a short matter of time, so the first things i picked out was the fact the image is centred on a outcasted figure, with his identity covered-he may be isolated. The people around him seem to be getting on with their work, possibly not acknowledging the figure. We also had to use singular words to describe this image, so i thought of the words, "silent, alone, dark, isolated,".
