Black Light
Keld Helmer-Peterson
Danish photographer Keld Helmer-Peterson's (1920-2013), new book Black Noise consisted of a collection of high contrast abstract images from his work from the 1960's.He was inspired by Albert Renger-Patzsch, the experiments at The Bauhaus in Germany by Harry Callahan and Aaron Siskind at the art institute of Chicago. His book was published by Rocket Gallery , which include black and white images, whereby all the mid tones have been removed. He used cameras and flat bed scanners to create his images so he could achieve the effects he wanted.

Editing my images
Once i chose the images i wanted i uploaded them to photoshop to then manipulate them. I selected the dropdown, image>adjustments>threshold. I then adjusted the threshold level slider until i found the perfect balance beween the tones so it was a block colour of black and white creating the perfect monochrome tone as it removes grey tones. I then cropped the image to focus more on a particular section. I then repeated this process with more imgages for my book, which i thought would have a nice contrast once i photoshoped it.
